Edward F. Davis was born in 1876 to Erasmus and Emeline Davis in Manchester-by-the-Sea, Massachusetts. Mr. Davis moved with his parents and five older siblings to Beverly, Massachusetts, by age four. His father worked as a sailor, and his mother performed housework. Mr. Davis had brown hair and brown eyes, stood 5'5½", and practiced Catholicism. He lived in Salem and worked as a laborer until his incarceration.
He was incarcerated in the Massachusetts Reformatory on December 13, 1895. Mr. Davis died while incarcerated at 2:15 P.M. on June 8, 1896, of pericarditis at 20 years old.
