Plot 34: Alvin Baker

Alvin Baker was born in 1853 to Benjamin and Mary Baker in Hartford, Connecticut. At 17, he was living in Windham, Connecticut, and working as a farm laborer alongside two of his siblings, Almond and Andrew, on their family farm. Census records from 1850 to 1880 report that Alvin had five siblings: Andrew, Amos, Albert, Arthur, and Almond, listed in order of age.

On November 5, 1877, Alvin was incarcerated in the Massachusetts State Prison. He died of consumption after just over four years in prison on January 14, 1882, at 29.
