Albert E. West was born on July 3, 1874, in Massachusetts to John H. West and Abbie E. Thompson. He also had two younger brothers and a younger sister. The family lived in Boston, Massachusetts with Mr. West's grandparents. Before his incarceration, he worked as a waiter.
Mr. West died from tuberculosis on January 27, 1912, while incarcerated at the Rutland Prison Camp and Hospital. He was 37.
