Plot 136: Michael Moriarty

Michael Moriarty was born on September 7, 1862, in New London, Connecticut to John Moriarty and Bridget Sheehan, two Irish immigrants. He lived with his parents, two brothers, and five sisters in New London County. All of his sisters worked at a cotton mill, while his elder brother, Morris, worked as a painter. After completing school, Mr. Moriarty began working at a rubber mill in Connecticut, but became a painter once he arrived in Massachusetts.

Mr. Moriarty was incarcerated in the Rutland Prison Camp and Hospital when he died of pulmonary tuberculosis and tubercular laryngitis on April 23, 1911, at 48.
