Moostafa Soolayman was a man of color born in 1879 in the Ottoman Empire to Moostafa and Didut Soolayman; Mr. Soolayman himself did not know his exact date of birth. He later immigrated to the United States and settled in Lowell, Massachusetts, where he worked as a mill hand.
Mr. Soolayman was incarcerated at the Rutland Prison Camp and Hospital in May 1911 to receive treatment for pulmonary tuberculosis, which he had contracted two years before. He died August 1, 1911, at approximately 32.
