Gerald Niel Coleman was born on March 29, 1940, in Manchester, Connecticut, to Robert P. Coleman and Margaret A. Nielsen. He lived on Lydall Street with his parents, his sister Barbara, and his brothers, John and Robert. He later attended the University of Hartford and worked for the U.S. Aircraft Corps Pratt and Whitney Division in East Hartford.
Mr. Coleman died at the Massachusetts Correctional Institute at Concord on March 27, 1996, at 55 years old. He was buried on May 24, 1996.
