George Elmer Harrison Taylor was born in West Virginia in 1882 and grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. He eventually left Ohio and worked as a barber, coal miner, and part-time vaudeville dancer.
Mr. Taylor served a 10-year sentence in Moundsville, West Virginia. At 5 A.M. On February 21, 1929, Mr. Taylor was transferred from Salem Jail to the Massachusetts State Prison. Authorities executed him by electrocution two weeks later on March 6, 1929. He was 47.
