Edward Peabody was born in 1854 to Joseph and Matilda Peabody in Vermont. By 1870, he worked as a farm laborer in Woodstock, Connecticut. Upon moving to Massachusetts, Mr. Peabody worked as a hat maker until his incarceration in the Massachusetts State Prison.
He remained incarcerated for five years until his death at 29 on August 28, 1883, due to paralysis of the brain.
