Michael Mahoney, alias Michael White, was born in County Clare, Ireland in 1854. He immigrated to the United States in March of 1887, and began working as a farm laborer in Worcester, Massachusetts, supported by the money left to him by family back in Ireland.
Mr. Mahoney was incarcerated in the Massachusetts State Prison in 1889. He died there on September 4, 1895 of heart disease, at 41. Records describe him as "feeble and ill" in the year leading up to his death.
