Marshall L. Cook Jr. was a man of color born on April 14, 1894 in New Bedford, Massachusetts to Marshall L. Cook Sr. and Lousia F. Miller. The Cook family, including Mr. Cook, his three sisters, and a cousin, rented a home on Emerson Street. He had black hair, hazel eyes, and was described as ‘short’. Mr. Cook later lived on Cottage Street and worked as a machine operator at a shoe shop.
Mr. Cook was incarcerated in the Massachusetts State Prison on February 16, 1918. He died there from an acute cerebral hemorrhage at 5:15 P.M. on October 31, 1922. He was 28.
