Bernard Weithaas was born in Werdau, Germany on May 1, 1872, to Franz Bernhard Weidhaase and Friedericke Hennrietta Jacob. In 1897, he left Germany, arriving in the United States the following year at age 25. Mr. Weithaas married Elizabeth Horatz, another German immigrant, in Springfield, Massachusetts, on October 28, 1900; both were 28. Elizabeth worked as a cook and Mr. Weithaas worked as a fresco painter.
Mr. Weithaas was incarcerated in the Massachusetts State Prison on December 25, 1902. He died of nephritis around midnight on January 13, 1922, at 49.
