James L. McGee was born on May 6, 1886, in Ohio to English immigrants James McGee and Eva Girourd. He lived in Charlestown, Massachusetts, and worked as a laborer.
Mr. McGee was incarcerated at the Rutland Prison Camp and Hospital in January 1911, where he received treatment for tuberculosis. He died of tuberculosis on March 26, 1911, at 24.
