Thomas A. Hodgson was born in March of 1881 to Arthur and Elizabeth Hodgson in Bradford, Yorkshire, England. At three, he and his family moved from England to Boston, Massachusetts, arriving on May 18, 1884 upon the SS Cephalonia. By 13, Mr. Hodgson had outlived three of his four siblings, none of whom made it past age five. By 1900, at 19, he was living at 54 Broadway in Cambridge and working with his brother as apprentice machinists under their father's tutelage.
Mr. Hodgson later worked as a clerk until his incarceration at the Rutland Prison Camp and Hospital. He died there on August 18, 1909, of pulmonary tuberculosis, at 28.
