10. Concord Mill Dam Company Properties on the Walling Map, 1852
This detail of Henry Walling's 1852 map of Concord shows the sturcture on the north side of the Milldam, now known as the Anderson Market building (laveled "Milldam Co." on the map). The Mill Brook is shown running beneath it. On the south side are structures labeled "Milldam Co's Block" (later Heywood's Block).
In 1853, the Concord Mill Dam Company sold 42-44 Main Street and an adjacent property at auction. Records of the company's transactions taper off around 1853-1854, and the Concord Mill Dam Company is listed among Massachusetts businesses dissolved in the Acts and Resolves Passed by the General Court of Massachusetts for 1873.
